Hobart International Airport Pty Ltd is owned by The Tasmanian Gateway Consortium.  The Tasmanian Gateway Consortium consists of –

  • 50.1% Macquarie Global Infrastructure Fund III (GIF III)
  • 49.9% Retirement Benefits Fund Board

GIF III is an unlisted, closed-end fund with a focus on infrastructure or infrastructure-like assets in OECD and OECD-like countries. GIF III has investments in four assets, being:

Macquarie Specialised Asset Management Limited manages GIF III on behalf of its investors, the majority of which are large Australian superannuation funds.

Retirement Benefits Fund is Tasmania’s public sector superannuation fund and has been Tasmanian-owned and operated since it was established in 1904.  Membership to RBF is open to any person employed on a casual, contract, permanent or temporary, full or part-time basis for a Tasmanian public sector employer and their spouses.
