Loop Road Alterations

Sep 20, 2011

In recent times Hobart Airport has seen a significant increase in traffic using Loop Road, this increase in traffic has now made Loop Road no longer suitable or safe for two way traffic.  In order to improve the safety of all users of Loop Road some alterations are necessary.

Currently road signage is being erected to make the section of Loop Road between Toll Freight and Tower Road one way.  These alternations mean that Loop Road will now only facilitate vehicles leaving the terminal precinct.

In addition, on Thursday 22 September, the section of Loop Road between Toll Freight and Tower Road will be closed completely for the day.  This is to facilitate the installation of a new power cable to the Airfield Lighting Equipment Room building that is being constructed on the runway side of Loop Road.  During this period, all vehicles are to exit via the commercial road in front of the terminal.  TSS will issue exit tickets as users pass to allow use of the boom gate.
