As part of our 2021 Community Giving Program, Hobart Airport provided $20,000 to help upgrade the Women’s Health Tasmania’s (WHT) public shower room.
The WHT shower service was being used by women who were living in tents, cars and temporary housing such as sheds before it was temporarily closed this year. The upgrade allows the shower service to resume supporting women at risk in the community.
A shower is an essential service. You have to be clean to have a chance of getting a rental property, or a job. But a shower gives you even more than that. It gives you dignity and hope. As a proud member of the Tasmanian community we take great pride in giving back however, and whenever we can and we look forward to continuing to play an active role in developing a sustainable future for Tasmania in which our people, economy and environment thrive.
