Tasmania’s Taste of Summer celebrates the best of the island’s food, drinks and local entertainment. Held annually on Hobart’s iconic waterfront from 27 December to 31 December and 4 January to 6 January, this family-friendly event is popular with both locals and travelers visiting Tasmania during the busy summer season, coinciding with the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race. Featuring an array of delicious food and award-winning wine, spirits, cider and beer, there is something for everyone at this vibrant summer festival!
Welcome to little Hobart
In partnership with the Taste, Hobart Airport is helping to bring families and friends together to enjoy a great day out where even the kids have their own space to enjoy the Taste.
The ‘Welcome to little Hobart’ area was a wonderland for children where they could explore, learn, play, or relax under the trees on Salamanca lawn. The space saw a range of performers and childcare professionals come together to provide the ultimate experience for kids. Renowned landscape designers, PLAY/St and Earthworm, created an engaging and really immersive experience for kids. It will also gave the adults a chance to unwind after a busy Christmas and enjoy everything that makes the Taste so special.
All staff working in the area have Working With Vulnerable People accreditation.
This year Variety the Children’s Charity will be the major beneficiary of the event.
