SkyBus
SkyBus provides fast and low cost airport transfers via the Hobart Express service, operating all year round to the heart of Hobart City.
Hobart Express meets major scheduled flights, seven days per week. See the timetable for full details. The average trip time is 30 minutes.
Tickets are available online through the SkyBus website. Alternatively, you can purchase tickets at the ticketing booth located opposite our car rental desks in the Arrivals area. If the booth is unattended, tickets can be purchased from the SkyBus driver outside our Arrivals area.
Where to wait
The buses stop outside the arrivals hall forecourt (Gate 1), to the right of the yellow bus shelter. After collecting your luggage from the carousels exit the nearest set of doors.
There are six stops located in the heart of Hobart.

- Brooke Street Pier bus stop on Franklin Wharf
- Tasmania Travel & Information Centre Elizabeth Street
- 157 Collins Street near Harrington Street
- RACV/RACT Hobart Apartments at 119 Collins Street
- The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel bus stop outside on Macquarie Street
SkyBus is a ‘turn up and go’ service which means bookings aren’t necessary. Tickets can be purchased from drivers at any of the pick-up stops.

Skybus Hobart Electric Buses
In 2022 Tasmania’s first two fully electric buses officially hit the road as part of the SkyBus service connecting passengers between Hobart Airport and the city.
The brand-new zero emission vehicles offer visitors landing in Tasmania a ‘green and clean’ welcome and smoother and quieter transport experience.
