Commercial vehicles

All commercial vehicles are required to meet Hobart Airport’s Terms and Conditions of Access.

Commercial vehicle operators seeking to commence operation from Hobart Airport are required to email commercial@hobartairport.com.au for details of relevant operating requirements 

Uber access

Uber drivers must register to collect new fares from Hobart Airport. Registration allows Uber drivers access to the airport’s commercial lanes to pick up their passengers.

Uber drivers can apply for registration with Hobart Airport which will allow their vehicle access to the commercial lanes to collect passengers. Once registered, drivers will receive an access card to enter and exit the commercial lane.

You will need to link a valid credit card via the ZipBy app and connect to Hobart Airport’s account to notify our Parking team of your application.

Taxis

All taxi drivers intending to operate at Hobart Airport are required be registered with Hobart Airport before picking up or dropping off passengers.

In future, taxi drivers will be required to use an access card to enter and exit the commercial lane. There will be new boom gates, which will open with use of your HBA access card. Credit card access will no longer be available. You will need to link a valid credit card via the ZipBy app. Instructions to register for your HBA access card are on page 2 of this guide.

  • All cards issued will be charged $20.00.
  • All replacement (lost or damaged) cards will be charged at $25.00.

CCTV cameras operate in the taxi waiting area at Hobart Airport. In addition to security, this assists taxi drivers to plan their journeys to the Airport.

Hobart Airport supports and assists the State Government’s standards of operation for taxi drivers. Any taxi that does not comply with these standards will be ejected from the Airport.
